Product Description
The vehicle construction is a operable garbage compactor system with a rear end loader. This vehicle can be equipped with the Light and Sound Module. The complete loading process is controlled by a special turning wheel mechanism, both of the small dustbins or the large waste container can be tipped out. The refuse bins are emptied into the trough of the refuse bunker by the lifting mechanism. During the turning of the rotary knob, the refuse is being pulled into the functioning press mechanism, condensed and then thrown into the refuse bunker. The bunker gets unloaded by opening the rear loading mechanism. Using the upper handle, which is connected to a movable carriage, the refuse is pushed backwards outside. Ages 6 and older. Measures 24.4 x 7.3 x 10.4 inches.

Arrived in Tack Nothing Broken

Immediatly checked the parts that other reviewers stated as received broken and the one I received looks to be in tack without any broken parts. I moved the red collection arms that pick-up the trash cans and they are fine. I turned the back side knob that moves the packing panel and trash to the inner compartment and had no problem with that either. Only rated 4 stars since it has not yet been played with by my son as this will be his Christmas present. I will have to wait then to see how durable the parts really are and will update my review later. He currently has the Bruder Garbage Man Side Loader and Loves It! We have had that truck for one month now without any problems.**UPDATE(12/3/2011)-I finally took it out of the box for an overall test before I wrap it up. Video upload shows the Truck I received does infact work.

I rate toys on how much children play with them. My grandson selected this truck as a gift for himself when he was 3. He loves it so much that he sleeps with it as well as the Bruder fire truck. He loves great big toy trucks. This truck is true to scale and true to life with doors and compartments that open and close. I don't understand why it costs as much as it does except that it is made in Germany where labor is expensive. It is a big plastic truck, but it is more durable than other plastic trucks. It is a heavy weight plastic and not the least bit flimsy. All the doors etc work. Even tho it was suggested for children over 3 or 4, our grandson was 3 and he didn't break it. After months of play he still loves it and considers it his favorite toy. Other than teaching a child how a garbage truck works, I don't see any educational value in this item. However, my prime purpose for purchasing a toy is for fun. If it happens to be educational then that is fine too. We have since purchased a fire truck and he recieved a small tractor. He loves them all. We will be buying the crane for his birthday and the cement truck for his holiday gift. His older brother took to the WOW trucks instead. I'd buy this again and recommend it for any boy who loves trucks and contruction vehicles.

I got this garbage truck for my son on his third birthday. He loves trucks andI love the trucks that don't make a ton of noise, but do things that helpshim to use his imaginative play skills. This truck has doors that open to allowhis men to get in, trash cans that hook on the back, a dumping knob, and knobthat churns the trash. He loves it!! I didn't mind spending the $ because I knewit would get hours and hours of play with my two boys.
